Read the instruments from first principles, then apply them without turning contextual evidence into universal rules.
These guides cover the underlying instruments rather than a single workflow. They are suitable as an introduction, but they retain the distinctions an experienced colorist expects: signal level is not scene luminance, a skin-tone indicator is not a target, and endpoint accumulation in a screen capture does not prove that source data is unrecoverably clipped.
